The Event

Our Annual “Freedom Festival, “Building Strength and Unity in Our Community” was created by the Vets on Track Foundation to celebrate the incredible contributions made by the men and women of the armed forces, and those who serve on the frontlines of our neighborhoods…our first responders, doctors, nurses and community neighbors. This annual event takes place each fall, reaching out to as many of our neighbors as possible. The festival is an all-day event, featuring lots of food and craft vendors, stage performances, Chesterfield at Work Static Display, Flag Retirement Service and Ceremony, and featured speakers throughout the day, plus more.

The MISSION

The Vets on Track Foundation is a state and federally recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Chesterfield, Virginia. Our mission through our “Beyond the Streets” program is to ensure that every veteran and first responder transitioning into permanent housing from living on the streets has the necessary furniture and household accessories to transform their new house into a “home.” Additionally, through our R.A.W. (Resiliency Among Warriors) program, we equip our warriors to become resilient through hope, healing and purpose, and finally our Fallen Heroes Initiative supports loved ones in time of crisis.

OUR VISION

Each year, the Vets on Track Foundation will present the Annual “Community Hero of the Year Award. Recipients will be selected by a review board from nominations received. We will present the annual award to an Active Duty Servicemember, Police Officer, Firefighter, EMT, Doctor, Nurse, high school student and an overall community champion.
