Virginia Veterans Alliance

A Program of the Vets on Track Foundation

Program Overview

The Virginia Veterans Alliance (VVA) is a collaborative initiative of the Vets on Track Foundation, created to strengthen coordination, communication, and collective impact among nonprofit organizations serving military veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and their families throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Across Virginia, hundreds of nonprofit organizations are working tirelessly to support those who have served our nation and continue to serve our communities. These organizations provide vital services, including housing assistance, employment transition support, behavioral health services, family reintegration programs, peer mentorship, financial literacy education, and community engagement opportunities.

Despite their shared mission, many of these organizations operate independently — often unaware of overlapping services, similar outreach initiatives, or opportunities to collaborate with providers in neighboring communities. This lack of coordination can lead to:

  • Duplication of services
  • Resource inefficiencies
  • Scheduling conflicts among outreach events
  • Missed partnership opportunities
  • Gaps in care for veterans and first responders

The Virginia Veterans Alliance was established to close these gaps by providing a centralized platform for communication, collaboration, and strategic alignment among nonprofit service providers across the state.

Mission

The mission of the Virginia Veterans Alliance is to provide a collaborative platform for nonprofit organizations serving veterans, first responders, and their families to share information, coordinate outreach calendars, and engage in structured brainstorming sessions to improve service delivery and better meet the evolving needs of those who served and continue to serve.

Program Objectives

The Virginia Veterans Alliance seeks to:

  • Improve communication between nonprofit service providers
  • Encourage collaboration across organizational lines
  • Reduce duplication of services
  • Enhance referral networks between member organizations
  • Coordinate outreach calendars to maximize community participation
  • Identify service gaps within local and regional support systems
  • Develop joint programming initiatives
  • Share resources and best practices
  • Promote unified advocacy and awareness efforts
