FUNdRUN Ambassadors Program

 

The FUNdRUN Ambassadors Program was developed by the Vets on Track Foundation as a dynamic, community-driven fundraising initiative that transforms race participation into meaningful impact. Built around the energy and visibility of organized running events, the program empowers individuals to become advocates, fundraisers, and storytellers in support of veterans, first responders, with funds specifically supporting the cause.

At its core, FUNdRUN Ambassadors bridge physical endurance with purpose. Participants—runners, walkers, supporters, and community leaders—commit to representing the mission of the Foundation while actively raising funds and awareness leading up to and during race events. 

Whether participating in local 5Ks, half marathons, marathons, or organized endurance challenges, ambassadors serve as visible champions of the cause.

Purpose and Mission Alignment

The program directly supports the Foundation’s Fallen Heroes Initiative (FHI), which provides educational scholarships to widowed spouses and/or dependents, and honors the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while providing critical support to surviving families, veterans, and first responders facing hardship. Through FUNdRUN Ambassadors, every mile run becomes a tribute, and every dollar raised contributes to real, life-changing assistance.

How the Program Works

Participants register as official FUNdRUN Ambassadors and receive access to a structured fundraising platform, branded materials, and ongoing support from the Foundation. Each ambassador sets personal fundraising goals and leverages their networks (friends, family, coworkers, and social communities) to generate contributions.

Ambassadors are equipped with:

  • Social media toolkits and messaging

  • Event-day branding (shirts, signage, etc.)

  • Recognition opportunities for milestone achievements

The program encourages storytelling—sharing why participants run, who they run for, and how their efforts contribute to the broader mission. This personal connection significantly increases engagement and donor participation.

Impact Through Visibility

Race environments provide a powerful stage. Thousands of participants and spectators create an opportunity to amplify the Foundation’s mission in a highly visible and emotionally engaging setting. FUNdRUN Ambassadors serve as moving billboards for the cause, sparking conversations, inspiring others, and expanding the Foundation’s reach far beyond traditional fundraising channels.
